मुंबई। मुंबई की एक विशेष अदालत ने कहा है कि किसी लड़की को 'आइटम' बुलाना और उसके बाल खींचना यौन हमला है। यह उसके शील भंग करने के बराबर है। विशेष जज एसजे अंसारी ने यौन उत्पीड़न के एक मामले में 25 वर्षीय एक व्यवसायी को डेढ़ साल की जेल की सजा सुनाते हुए यह टिप्पणी की। साथ ही अपराधियों की परिवीक्षा अधिनियम के तहत अच्छे व्यवहार के आधार पर रिहा करने से उसे इन्कार कर दिया।

अदालत ने कहा, इस तरह के अपराधों से सख्ती से निपटने की जरूरत है क्योंकि महिलाओं को उनके अवांछित व्यवहार से बचाने के लिए ऐसे सड़क छाप रोमियो को सबक सिखाने की जरूरत है। परिणामस्वरूप इसका लाभ देने का कोई सवाल ही नहीं उठता है। अभियुक्त को परिवीक्षा देना, उसके प्रति अनुचित उदारता दिखाना होगा। पीड़िता के साथ यह घटना मुंबई के साकीनाका इलाके में हुई थी।
"Such crimes need to be dealt with sternly as such street raiders need to be taught a lesson to save women from their unwanted behavior," the court said. As a result, there is no question of giving its benefit. Probation to the accused would amount to showing undue leniency towards him. The incident with the victim took place in Sakinaka area of Mumbai.

इस मामले में पीड़िता लगातार आरोपी व उसके दोस्तों की ओर से परेशान करने की शिकायत कर रही थी। घटना वाले दिन जब पीड़िता स्कूल से लौट रही थी तो आरोपी ने उसे परेशान करना शुरू कर दिया, उसके बाल खींचे और 'आइटम' बुलाने लगे। पीड़िता ने पुलिस हेल्पलाइन पर फोन किया लेकिन जब तक पुलिस आई तब तक आरोपी अबरार खान भाग चुका था। बाद में मामले में प्राथमिकी दर्ज की गई थी, लेकिन आरोपी को अग्रिम जमानत मिल गई थी।
